3 Options for 3 Budgets: Bi-Fold Doors, Stacking Doors and Sliding Doors to Enhance Your Home

Category: Blog, Doors, Product News

Bi-Fold Doors, Stacking Doors and Sliding Doors are excellent ways of adding a modern touch to your home.

All three doors provide a higher level of ambience and are a better way to link both your indoor and outdoor living spaces.

With Australia’s love for summer outdoor living, it is important to be able to take advantage of your home to maximise the Australian lifestyle. While Bi-Fold Doors, Stacking Doors and Sliding Doors can help brighten and enhance your home, there are differences between them.

Bi-Fold Doors ($$$):

The Bi-fold Door (sometimes called Concertina Door) is a series of panels that fold along a seam until they stand at one end together. The Bi-Fold Design allows for the door to fully open the space between the indoor and outdoor living area.

Bi-Fold Doors can be open both fully and partially, so you can decide the level of outdoor atmosphere you want to let into your home.

It’s important to note that Bi-Fold Doors are difficult to fit with fly screens, making it a potentially expensive exercise.

Jason’s aluminium Bi-Fold Doors come in all standard colours and can be fitted with Laminated, Toned Glazing, Low-E and Double Glazing.

Stacking Doors ($$):

The Stacking Door (sometimes called Stacker or Sliding Stacker Door) are 3 to 6 glass panels that slide along an aluminium track to eventually stack in front of one another.

The Stacking design allows for a much more open space than a regular sliding door, letting in an abundance of natural light and fresh air.

While Stacking Doors do not fully open in the same way Bi-Fold Doors do, they provide a wide-open space while maintaining a sleek and contemporary design.

Jason’s aluminium Stacker Doors come in all standard colours and can be fitted with Laminated, Low-E, Toned Glazing and Double Glazing.

Sliding Doors ($):

The Sliding Door is the most cost effective and common way to link the indoor and outdoor spaces. It consists of one glass panel that slides across to create an opening.

Regular Sliding Doors do not open as much a Bi-Fold or Stacking Doors but are still a sufficient link between the inside of your home and the outdoors.

It is also possible to get a 4 panel Sliding Door that allows for a larger opening than regular Sliding Doors.

Jason’s aluminium Sliding Doors come in all standard colours and can be fitted with Laminated, Low-E, Toned Glazing and Double Glazing.

When it comes to choosing your door type, it all depends on your needs. Think about what is best for your home and outdoor area and which design would your lifestyle. It is important to remember that each door type comes in multiple styles and configurations.
