Features

Security Performance

All Jason Sentry Doors come with a locking system that meets the minimum requirements of most home insurance policies.

Being aluminium, Jason doors will not splinter or break when forced. Choose from a wide selection of stylish handle options that can be keyed alike to other Jason doors in your home.

Strength

Jason’s sturdy frame design maintains a minimum internal section frame width of 76mm, designed for double brick cavity and framed construction. The design incorporates a unique sub-frame system to ensure it is built in square and plumb.

Midrail Options

Jason Sentry Doors come with the option to add midrails that create small ‘lite’ spaces within the door. The midrails can be horizontal or vertical,  ranging from two lite to seven lite configurations. Each midrail is 130mm wide and has a chamfered or bevelled edge on single glazed sentry doors that is visible from the outside. A square bead edge is visible from the inside. For double glazed sentry doors, a square bead edge is used on both sides to allow for the thickness of the double glazing.

Hi-Lite and Side-Lite Options

Hi-lites or side-lites can be coupled to the sentry door and are often specified to let more natural light into the home. Hi-lites refer to the glass panel that can be fitted above the door, while side-lites are the glass panels that can be fitted on either side of the door. If ventilation is a concern, select an awning window as a hi-lite or side-lite for a filtered breeze.

Optional Colonial or Benchmark Bars

Jason Sentry Doors can be fitted with Flat (Colonial) Bars or Benchmark Bars in a horizontal or vertical configuration.

  • Flat (Colonial) bars are 20mm wide with a classic bevelled edge
  • Benchmark bars are 27mm wide with a rounded step bevel

Both choices are optional and provide an opportunity to be creative by adding a ‘Hamptons touch’ to your glazing.

Comparison between Flat (Colonial Bars) which have a classic beveled edge, vs Benchmark Bars which have a rounded stepped bevel.

Glazing Options

The role glass plays in the ongoing performance and comfort of a home is often overlooked when building or renovating. Glass has a significant impact on the comfort levels, natural light and security of your home. Your home’s orientation and your family’s needs should be considered when selecting the right glass solution for you.

Toughened safety glass is supplied as standard in all Jason Sentry Doors. Upgrade options include:

BAL Ratings

Depending on your suburb’s BAL Rating, a security door may be required.

Your home’s location is assessed for the severity level of a potential ember attack, radiant heat, and direct flame contact. The BAL (Bushfire Attack Level) is a rating system that states construction requirements under the Australian Standard AS3959-2009 to improve the protection of your home from a potential bushfire attack. Your builder or council can advise if your home is subject to a BAL rating. A Jason Windows Product Specialist can assist you with your BAL rating window, door, and screen requirements to ensure your home meets the code.
