Split Level and Multi-Storey Guide

All projects that are either split-level or multi-storey require scaffolding and hoists to be supplied and erected by the owner builder. All scaffolding and hoists must comply with the appropriate Australian Standards and Worksafe requirements.

SITE MEASURE AND FIT PROCESS

FOR FRAMES & GLAZING

If your frames are to be fitted by Jason Windows and not bricked in by your bricklayer, then this is called Site Measure Fit.
The following outlines the Site Measure Fit Process:

Stage 1 Prior to Site Measure

Check the following is completed before booking a site measure with Jason Windows:

  • The openings are ready/prepared
  • The openings have clear access
  • External sill bricks are installed
  • For rake window openings, the ceilings are installed and the external cladding type is confirmed
  • The estimated date of when render/plaster will be completed is known

If there is a recessed door sill, the internal frame height will finish above slab level. Once all the above have been completed, book in your site measure with Jason Windows.

Stage 2 Site Measure

Depending on the demand for our services at the time of booking, the site measure will be completed within two weeks from the booking date. We can confirm a more definite schedule at the time of your booking.

Stage 3 Manufacture

All Jason products are made to order. Depending on the product specified and our production schedules at the time, this can take between three to six weeks. Standard products and colours take a shorter time to manufacture and special orders may require additional lead times. The lead time will be confirmed with you after the product has been scheduled for manufacturing.

Stage 4 Frame Installation

After manufacture, the frames will be delivered to the site. Installation of the frames will be scheduled to be completed within two weeks after delivery of frames. This is dependent on frame installation demand at the time of the booking. The scheduler will advise an installation date at the time of the booking.

Before the frame fixer arrives on site, it is the owner builder’s responsibility to ensure access requirements are met for high-level windows and upper floors, such as the provision of scaffolding and hoist access for frames.

Stage 5 Glazing

Glazing can only be booked with Jason Windows once the roof cover has been fully installed. Due to the hazard risk created onsite from glass being in the building while roof trades are working above, Jason Windows will not install glazing in homes before the full roof cover has been completed.

Depending on glazing demand at the time of the booking, glazing will generally be completed within two weeks from the booking date. The scheduler will advise a glazing date at the time of booking.

Before the glazier arrives on site, it is the owner builder’s responsibility to ensure access requirements are met for high-level windows and upper floors, such as the provision of scaffolding and hoist access for glass panels.

Stage 6 Installation of Pressings

Once the frames and glazing installations are completed, pressings will be measured for and ordered by the frame installer.

Installation of pressings will be completed within 15 working days from the measure date. Once installed, the site measure and fit process can be marked off as completed.

Service Work
As a guide, allow seven days of service work. Priority is given to any work compromising the security of your home.

Note:

  • Custom colours and commercial products require extended lead times. Current lead times will be confirmed at time of order.
  • Any dates quoted for delivery of the goods are approximate only and Jason Windows shall not be liable for any delay in delivery of the goods, however caused. The goods may be delivered in advance of the quoted delivery date upon giving reasonable notice.
